- Can I buy other things at the Marina
Dock?
- Yes, the Marina Dock sells coffee, tea, sodas and light snacks.
We also sell recovery-related literature such as the latest
edition of "Alcoholics Anonymous" - the "Big Book" of AA itself.
We also have internet-access, available for purchase on an hourly
basis. This trade helps to pay our rent and meet our running
expenses. back up
- Are The Marina Dock meetings and workshops
open to anyone?
- Yes. All meetings at The Marina Dock are open to everyone
unless otherwise specified (for example, Women Only meetings).
You do not have to be a Marina Dock member to attend recovery
meetings at our location. On average, between four and five
hundred people use our facility every day, either to socialize
or to attend Twelve Step meetings. back up
- What does it cost to attend a meeting or
workshop?
- There are no requirements for attendance, or are there any
dues or fees. In the case of 12 Step meetings, each group is
fully supporting, declining outside contributions, and practices
what is called the Seventh Tradition. This is when a basket
is passed around and group members contribute. The money collected
goes towards paying the rent for the room and the surplus is
sent to the group's central office. back up
- Can someone just turn up at a meeting without
a reservation?
- Yes. Reservations are not required. Just turn up. Please turn
up on time. If you arrive late, it's still all right to go into
the meeting, but enter quietly and do not disrupt the proceedings.
